Counselling & Psychotherapy

Welcome

I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist holding membership and professional standards with the BACP and ACBS.Many of us can struggle with the weight of past experiences or the pressures of daily life. If you've landed on this page, you're already taking a meaningful step in exploring how therapy might help lighten that weight and move you toward a more fulfilling future. My aim is to support you in feeling more in control of life's challenges. By creating a safe, judgment-free space to explore your history and present feelings, we can make sense of these experiences, deepen your self-connection, and develop tools for self-management that will serve you long beyond your time in therapy.I have a long career in mental health and neurodiversity services and am qualified to work across a broad range of challenges. I also have particular expertise supporting those:1. Struggling with anxiety, burnout, low mood.
2. Exploring interpersonal dynamics (including experiences of abuse).
3. Processing feelings of guilt and shame.
4. Exploring identity, belonging, and esteem (eg: around sexuality and race).
5. Re-building from adverse life experiences.

My approach

I am trained as an integrative practitioner, which means I draw from the strengths and techniques of different therapy styles to best suit your specific needs. This may include flexibly moving between exploratory therapies to more solution-focused therapies as and when it feels helpful. With this holistic approach we are more able to move freely between different areas of importance and flexibly respond to your present-moment needs.Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Some clients come simply to be listened to, whilst others may want more challenge and reflection around their patterns of thinking and behaviour. In every case, you can expect my practice to be rooted in empathy, non-judgment, and collaboration. The work we do will be shaped by your goals, your pace, and what feels most helpful for you.Within this I often draw on my additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which can help to connect with difficult experiences more compassionately while maintaining a constructive perspective on how we can better support ourselves.Additionally, I am also trained as a coach and on request can incorporate these skills into our therapeutic work if requested. This style of work can be particularly helpful when taking steps towards change, navigating specific life transitions, or consolidating on a sense of progress. Many of my clients complete their time in therapy feeling less internal conflict, greater day-to-day control, and importantly a renewed confidence to support themselves beyond the therapy space.

Key Experience

PGDip: Integrative Counselling (with distinction)
PGDip: Integrative Coaching (with distinction)
I also draw on experience from my ongoing clinical work with the following charitable organisations:We Stand - supporting families affected by child sex abuse with common themes of abuse recovery, processing shame and guilt, exploring safety/trust.London Friend - supporting members of the LGBT+ community with  themes of identity exploration, connecting with self-worth, and navigating community-specific challenges.I know that lengthy text explanations of therapy jargon may not clearly illustrate how the therapy process might specifically support you. While I've kept these elements brief, I'd be happy to discuss my working practices (and additional training) in more detail during a free introductory call.
